The weekend is finally upon us. However due to Coronavirus, there’s still a need to stay home and stay safe.
It is definitely not like it used to be. Money is tight too so we are all forced to be mindful of our spending. Even so, the pandemic has gone to show us that there is so much more one can do other than the usual drinking and partying with friends.
The fact that we are spending more time by ourselves makes self-care a top activity during one’s leisure time. Now removed from the usual noise and buzz of lively social life, the restrictions has really grounded many making it easier to identify places of self-improvement.
As boring as self-improvement may sound, imagine it is not all that bad. The benefits are also so fulfilling because if done the transformation can be remarkable.
Hence this weekend instead of lazing around in pajamas binging on unhealthy food, try these self-care tips and have yourself a more productive weekend.
1.Work out
Yes, weekends are for chilling and relaxing but how many times has a weekend ended and you ended up feeling horrible? Like you did nothing? Many, right?
So alternatively, purpose to get a thirty-minute workout in. This will get your energy levels up and your mind active which then allows you to easily engage in other productive activities that have been on your weekend to-do list for ages.
Also switch it up, instead of going to the gym or working out in the house, try a morning run around your neighborhood. This is unmistakably an ideal way to set the vibe for a productive weekend.
2.Meditate
Switch your phone off, no Tv just some soft relaxing music and meditate. Take time to rethink your goals, check on your mental health and any other facet of life that is important to you.
Re- strategize if you need to, celebrate if you have done well, and plan for better results.
This will go a long way in grounding your thoughts and everyday habits for the coming week especially with the craze that the pandemic has caused.
Taking stock is key and you do not have to wait for the end of the month or year to do that, a weekend is also perfect.
3. Bucket list
We all have a bucket list if you don’t, you need one. Take time to see what can be ticked off and purpose to explore that interest over the weekend.
Get out and have some fun, with or without friends. Life is more than working and paying bills and you owe it to yourself to live a wholesome fulfilling life.
I know getting up and about during the weekend may look and feel like work but that is the only time you have to yourself away from work.
Life has so much more to offer and sadly we only have Saturdays and Sundays every week to find out what that means for each one of us.
