Viagra Keeps Christmas Trees Upright – Study

Viagra prevents Christmas trees from drooping.

Researchers say that putting the little blue erectile dysfunction pill in a fir’s water supply keeps its branches erect for longer.

Viagra boosts blood flow in male intimate areas by increasing production of nitric oxide – the same chemical that is thought to reduce cell damage in plants.

Experts from Odense University Hospital in Denmark attempted to find out if plain water, aspirin or sildenafil (also known as Viagra) helped prevent the tree branches from drooping.

A high dose of Viagra had a better chance of keeping the branches up compared with water alone and adding aspirin did not work in the study.

Writing in the Danish Weekly Journal for Physicians, Dr. Morten Ruge said: “The high-dose sildenafil group had a tendency for longer survival.”

The study validates past research showing that small doses of Viagra boost the shelf life of cut flowers such as tulips.
