TikTok Bans Nairobi Woman’s Account Following Viral Altercation With ‘Kanjo’

Short-form video platform TikTok has cracked the whip on Nairobi woman Gloria Ntazola following her viral video of altercation with a Nairobi City Council officer (Kanjo).

The viral video that captured the attention of numerous Kenyans has been taken down, leading to the permanent ban of the TikTok account associated with it. The video was taken down due to harassment and bullying which are against community guidelines.

Chaos ensued for a Nairobi City Council officer ‘Kanjo’ on Wednesday, the 18th of October 2023, when he entered a woman’s car without her consent while she was attempting to park in the CBD. Gloria Ntazola, the TikToker, documented the incident on her account, describing it as taking the man on an unexpected “road trip” to Ngong while lamenting on the harassment by the City council officers.

“Nakupeleka hadi kwangu saa hii, hii gari hautoki ndani. Mbona unaingia kwa gari yangu? Wewe ni traffic police? Mnasumbua Wakenya, watu wako na stress. Nakupeleka hadi Ngong town!”

The video showcased the ‘Kanjo’ officer’s desperate pleas and requests for forgiveness after unceremoniously entering her car, presumably attempting to intimidate the lady while occupying the passenger’s seat. The viral video elicted numerous reactions from Kenyans on social media.

“The Kanjo needs to cease harassing innocent Kenyans who are striving to make ends meet,” she affirmed on her Instagram, also revealing the shutdown of her TikTok account. She expressed her decision to take a break for the time being.
