Achieving a productive week is challenging.
It can be difficult to get things done because there are so many distractions or you don’t feel inspired. According to statistics, 80% of people don’t want to go to work on Monday morning. So we procrastinate, look at our to-do lists, sometimes with up to a hundred items on them, and have no idea where to start. If you want to have a productive week without these challenges, here are some tips:
1. Plan to be productive.
If you go into the week with the mindset of negativity, then you will never get anything done. Plan to be productive by being positive and my making a plan or setting aside time for you to do your work.
2. Be disciplined.
You may have gotten started on your work, but sometimes it can be difficult to finish it. Instead of procrastinating by stopping to take a break every 5 minutes, remain disciplined by staying put and finishing your tasks.
3.Set goals.
Set high expectations for yourself, but don’t make those expectations so high that they are unattainable. Remember to make realistic goals that you can accomplish and read them every day.
4. Learn to say “No”.
You can’t say “yes” to every opportunity to hang out with your friends or watch your favorite shows. You also can’t do everything at the office, sure you can double but don’t bite off more than you can chew in terms of what you are expected to do at work. Remember what is really necessary for you to do this week and stay focused.
5. Pump yourself with a single intention.
It’s important to have a word, phrase, or picture that will inspire you throughout the week. A message of affirmation will definitely get you through the day and week as well as help you feel empowered.
6.Evaluate your progress at the end of the week
Choosing a few key plans for the week is not easy at first. What helps is reflection at the end of each week. Was what you did important and worth one full week of work? During the week, whenever something gets done, don’t just delete it or tick it as done, but write it down as progress. On Friday, look at your progress list and study each item.
7.Communicate if you are stuck
Not everything you plan gets done. Quite often there are external reasons. Things get stuck or delayed. Don’t procrastinate on things you can’t solve yourself. Ask for help from your manager, your teammates, advisors or anyone else.
