Father’s Day is typically celebrated in June, and this year was different.
With 2020 being a time of uncertainty as individuals make do living in a pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement taking center stage, the importance of fathers is acknowledged now more than ever before.
Here are some of our favorite Father’s Day posts:
1.Blessed Njugush
The father-of-one celebrated his fatherhood with a message from his son. The post featured adorable Tugi, giving a sweet message to his daddy.

2.Bahati
The father of four was celebrated for his parenting. Diana Marua his loving wife with whom they share a blended family, shared a heartfelt message which she shared on Instagram. She wrote ” I appreciate you for going out of your way to make sure they get the best. You are the perfect role model to them. Thank you for the values you’ve instilled in them and more so, thank you for loving them so selflessly.”

3. Lupita Nyong’o
The award-winning actress shared some aspects of her father’s persona, the public many not know. Her father Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o the Kisumu County Governor is known to be a private man, but daughter Lupita shared a glimpse into what was like to have him as a father in a touching post.

4.Kevin Hart
Entertainment mogul Kevin shared some great images for black families. The timely posts that came off of the Black Lives Matter movement, continues to reaffirm that Black Fathers matter too. He wrote “On this Father’s Day I want to celebrate the fathers closest to me….Thank you all for being a great example & definition of what Fathers are supposed to be.”
He went on to share images of Africa-American fathers and their families including Steve Harvey,Dave Chappelle, Nick Cannon, Kanye West, Stephen Curry, Usher and more.
5. Octopizzo
Mr. Ohanga shared some intimate photos of his family; celebrating his late father. The World Peace Berlin ambassador acknowledged the vital role his father played in his life, saying “You taught me how to fight & since then I’ve never lost any fight to nobody & probably never will.”

6. Michelle Obama
Mrs. Obama shares a cute message on behalf of her daughters. She took to the photo sharing app Instagram writing, “Thank you for the way you love our girls—and all the young people in this country, no matter who they are or where they come from. We feel your warmth and generosity today and everyday.” The 44th POTUS, has been celebrated for his warmth, continues to be championed as being role model to many.
7.Trey Songz
The singer’s appreciation post highlighted three generations, a positive message for all those who understood the significance of his post in light of the Black Lives Matter movement. Celebrating his first Father’s Day, Songz noted that fatherhood has made him a better man.
