The 2022 Grammy Awards ceremony has been postponed until a later date, for the second year in a row.
The ceremony was initially slated for January 31 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles with TV host Trevor Noah playing host, but the organizers have cited the rising cases of the new Omicron variant as rendering it cancelled.

“After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show. The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priorit,” CBS and the Recording Academy announced in a joint statement.
“Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night® on a future date, which will be announced soon,” they added.
Last year’s ceremony was also rescheduled from January to March owing to a surge in COVID-19 cases. It would be held with a relatively small in-person audience and outdoors. The date for this year’s ceremony has yet to be announced.
