Students To Win $3700 Scholarships From Robert Gordon University

Staff from Robert Gordon University (RGU) Scotland are traveling around East Africa this month to show prospective applicants what they can expect from life as an RGU student and highlight scholarship opportunities.

Led by RGU’s Regional Manager for Africa, the group is visiting schools in Kenya and Uganda to provide pupils and their parents with opportunities to meet with RGU’s representatives, learn about the university in Aberdeen and see the wide range of undergraduate courses and study options on offer.

They will visit Hillcrest International School in Nairobi and Rainbow International School in Kampala where students are guaranteed a £3,000 scholarship, which will fund their first year of study at RGU in the North East of Scotland.

During the visits, the group will deliver presentations on a range of subjects including engineering, applied social studies, business and health sciences. There will also be information on admission requirements and anyone wishing to begin their application process will be given assistance in doing so.

Jamie Hastings, RGU’s Regional Manager for Africa, says: “International diversity is hugely important to RGU and we really value opportunities to visit schools overseas, which are a great opportunity to meet with pupils and tell them all about life at RGU and in Scotland.

“We offer a wide range of industry-focused courses so we aim to provide pupils and their parents with all of the information they need to make the right choices to study overseas undergraduate programs with high employability records.RGU offers scholarship opportunities for pupils at the schools we’re visiting so we will also be on hand to help them apply for the guaranteed course discounts and provide support for the application process.”

The group will also visit the University of Rwanda during the trip to East Africa. The RGU representatives will also be attending the Uniserv UK Education Fair March 2017 in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda where they will meet with prospective students and help with applications.

They will represent RGU at the Uniserv Mombasa fair in the Best Western Hotel on March 20; the Kampala exhibition at the Imperial Royale on March 21; and the Kigali event in Hotel Chez Lando on March 25.To arrange a meeting with an RGU representative during the visit, contact Jamie Hastings, RGU’s Regional Manager for Africa via j.hastings1@rgu.ac.uk
