Sol generation singer Nviiri the Storyteller just dropped the video for Kitenge, the title track off of his EP -title track.
The song already has fans head over heels and is clearly one of people’s favorites from the talented vocalist-cum-instrumentalist’s debut EP.
He had earlier in the week posted a 20-second teaser, featuring himself and Over 25 vlogger Julia Gaitho alias Jules Her, who plays the singer’s love interest.
The video’s creative aesthetics hugely complement the already-epic song. Jules’ goddess depiction was much-needed. She effortlessly carries the role, with her outfit and headgear, body language…the works. Ankara accents are well in the picture, obviously to boot the song’s title.
Both Nviiri and Jules put the song’s message across seamlessly: Prejudice, high expectations, and a state of not-being-ready for a long-haul relationship, a subject matter many a viewer relate to all too well.
The singer’s EP has amassed immense success since its release, having garnered over 10 million streams in just a few months after premiering.
One of the most popular tracks is Niko Sawa, featuring Sauti Sol’s Bien. The video currently sits at 3.2 million views and has Nviiri’s rumored girlfriend Elodie Zone as his love interest.
