Sean Paul and J Balvin are ‘against the wall’ in new release

Grammy Award-winning dancehall artiste Sean Paul has teamed up with Latino superstar J. Balvin for the release of his electrifying new single, ‘Contra La Pared’ which means Against The Wall.

The new single follows the release of recent smash ‘Mad Love’, featuring songstress Becky G, ‘Shot & Wine’ with British Jamaican rapper Stefflon Don, and ‘Boasty’ with Wiley, Stefflon Don and renowned actor Idris Elba.

According to the Jamaican star, on collaborating with Balvin, Jamaican singer Sean said: “It was great working with J. Balvin. He’s a star from the Latin world who has such great knowledge and respect for dancehall music. So when the dons of dancehall & Latin team up, the result is pure fire!”

Balvin is also happy with the collaboration. “Working with Sean Paul was a real blessing. I’ve been a fan of his music for a long time, and since reggaeton obviously has strong roots from reggae, it was really exciting to bring our world’s together,” said the reggaeton singer, who has received 11 number one Latin singles, more than 50 million social media followers, and more than 20 billion YouTube views.

The music video for ‘Contra La Pared’ was directed by Andy Hines (Kali Uchis, Logic). It was released last week and it has since garnered over 13.2 million views on YouTube and counting.

The 46-year-old who is expecting his 2nd child with wife Jodi Stewart was born Sean Paul Francis Henriques on the 9th of January 1973. Most of his albums have been nominated for the Grammy’s Best Reggae Album, with Dutty Rock winning the award. His two hit singles “Get Busy” and “Temperature” topped charts in the United States.

Born José Álvaro Osorio Balvín on May 7, 1985, J Balvin,33, is a popular Colombian singer. He got his breakthrough in 2014 and In June 2017, J Balvin released the single “Mi Gente” with Willy William on 1st August 2017. “Mi Gente” later reached one billion views on YouTube. Balvin has also collaborated with Grammy award-winning songstress Beyonce, as well as Cardi B and Bad Bunny on the US number-one single “I Like It”.
