Sauti Sol come clean as to why they have not released any new music in months as promised.
Early this year award-winning Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol revealed that they would release at one song per month alongside an African artist in 2018 as part of their upcoming LP ‘Afrikan Sauce’.
However, Sauti Sol who started with gusto releasing hits such as “Melanin” ft Nigerian Patoraking and “Short n’ Sweet” ft fellow Kenyan hitmaker Nyashinski slowed down mid-way through and haven’t released anything since their most politically conscious track ‘Tujiangalie” featuring Nyashinki in August.
Apparently, the group was unable to follow through on the one-song-per-month promise to their fans due to lack of resources to take the project to a global scale. Bien Aime of Sauti Sol made the revelation at a press conference for the 2018 Diani Beach Festival at The Alchemist, Westlands, on Wednesday (19.12.2018).
“We took a break because we realized we did not have the required financial muscle to keep up with the releases and push the project to a global scale. We have, however, signed deals with international record labels and from next year we will be back on track,” said Bien.
Sauti Sol is set to perform at the second edition of the annual Diani Beach Festival alongside Nyashinski, H_art the Band and Dj Kace from December 29, 2018.
