Sauti Sol Gives Fans A Stellar Last Dance At Sol Fest

Kenya’s Afro-pop sensation, Sauti Sol, recently marked the culmination of a remarkable era with their sold-out Sol Festival, aptly titled ‘Last Dance.’

The renowned musical ensemble poured their hearts into two unforgettable performances, with the VIP showcase on the 2nd and the fan-centric spectacle on the 4th at Uhuru Gardens.

The fan show, in particular, witnessed an electrifying display as Sauti Sol, comprising Bien Aime Baraza, Savara Mudigi, Willis Chimano, and Polycarp Otieno (Fancy Fingers), enthralled a crowd of over 15,000 enthusiasts. This monumental event served as a poignant farewell before the group embarks on a hiatus, each member delving into individual projects.

Celebrating an impressive two-decade journey, Sauti Sol treated their loyal followers to an unforgettable musical journey. From their inaugural album, ‘Mwanzo’ in 2009, to the more recent ‘Midnight Train’ released in 2020, the quartet delivered hit after hit, creating an immersive experience that traversed the evolution of their sound.

The meticulously crafted setlist and impeccable production values added to the magic, with Sauti Sol inviting some of their esteemed collaborators to share the stage. The audience was treated to stellar performances featuring the likes of hitmaker Nyashinski, soulful singer Dela, rap maestro Khaligraph Jones, the iconic boy band P-Unit, and the stars from Sol Generation, Nviiri and Bensoul, who had earlier warmed up the stage for their mentors.

As the final notes resonated through the air, Sauti Sol received a thunderous standing ovation, with fans and critics alike lauding Sol Fest as one of the standout shows of 2023.
