Rihanna’s long awaited return to music is all the rave right now after her Lift Me Up ballad from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack debuted a few hours ago.
Besides from the Bajan music icon, it looks like your RnB favorites have been cooking up a storm and are getting your weekend started on the right gear. Here’s some new music out for your listening pleasure:
Chloe – For The Night
After weeks of teasing the song and posting snippets of it, the singer finally avails this new mellow and with a video to boot. She had previously intimated to fans that For The Night is inspired by her rumored ex-boyfriend Gunna. She incorporates choreography and footage from a past live performance of the song as well as a behind-the-scenes backstage look. For The Night is her first release since Treat Me.
SZA – Shirt
The RnB heavyweight is back with yet another sensual record. The singer teased Shirt for almost two years in performances and had fans beg for its release. The action-filled accompanying video is directed by Dave Meyers and stars actor Lakeith Stanfield and greatly complements the song’s lyrical composition.
Ashanti – Falling For You
Another RnB powerhouse, and a legendary one at that, Ashanti is back with the ultimate breakup anthem. She is no stranger to catchy and memorable RnB numbers and Falling For You is no exception. The video depicts a love story gone sour and Ashanti is not ‘falling for’ her love interest anymore. Too common a theme in RnB. Except Ashanti makes it sound ultra fabulous.
