Rapper DaBaby Spews Homophobic Slurs At Rolling Loud, Social Media Reacts

Rapper DaBaby has come under heavy criticism following his latest hateful  homophobic and stigmatizing rhetoric at the Rolling Loud festival over the weekend.

During his set at the festival, the rapper made comments attacking the LGBTQ community and people living with HIV/AIDS. “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” he said. “Ladies, if your p—y smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d— in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up, ‘’ he chanted.

The comments rubbed off many the wrong way and many people called him out on social media, given their inaccuracy and stigmatizing nature. Amid the backlash, rapper T.I, who is currently facing grave sexual assault allegations, chimed and did not help make the situation better either.  ‘’If Lil Nas X can kick his s*it in peace, so should DaBaby, ‘’ he quipped.

Immense backlash mounted on the two even the more. Many infuriated social media users were quick to point out that those living with HIV/AIDS can live long, healthy and happy lives, thanks to antiretroviral medication that came to prominence more than two decades ago.

This is not DaBaby’s only controversial moment at Rolling Loud. Shortly after Megan Thee Stallion’s performance, DaBaby brought out Tory Lanez, who allegedly shot Stallion in the foot last year. This was shortly after Stallion’s performance on the stage. DaBaby collaborated with Stallion on his Cry Baby track, after which they would fall out after he seemingly sided with Lanez.
