‘Pole Dancing Has Helped Me Battle Depression’ – Kaz Lucas

Sex educator Karen ‘Kaz’ Lucas has shed light on how pole dancing has helped her.

Taking to Instagram to flaunt a few sexy pictures of her on the pole, Kaz revealed that the erotic dancing technique has helped her with her mental health, specifically aiding her in battling depression and anxiety.

Through pole dancing, the Spreadpod host has learnt to love herself more, feel more comfortable in her skin and ultimately made her stronger in every way.

“It has helped me battle the worst parts of my depression/anxiety, it has increased my love for my body, made me feel myself the most and made me ultimately stronger in all facets,” posted Kaz.

The LGBTQ activist refuted claims that one has to flexible and strong to practice pole dancing saying, “You build flexibility, strength and confidence on the pole. You don’t need to be fit to join the gym, you get your strength from the gym.”

She added that she has learnt a lot about herself and others through her obsession with pole dancing.

The 2019 film Hustlers brought positive attention to pole dancing which is regarded as a form of exercise. The film focused on the lives of strippers in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the film cast members of the New York stripping community, including rap icon Cardi B.
