Over 500,000 Videos Were Removed In Kenya In Quarter 2, 2025 – TikTok Community Guidelines Report

TikTok has released its Quarter 2 2025 Community Guidelines
Enforcement Report (CGER) showcasing its ongoing commitment to creating a safe digital space for its users. The report, which covers data from April to June 2025, details the proactive steps TikTok continues to take to identify and remove content that violates its
Community Guidelines, ensuring a positive experience for its global community.

Between April and June 2025, 592,037 videos were removed from the platform in Kenya, for violating the platform’s Community Guidelines. Notably, 92.9% of these were removed before they were viewed and 96.3% removed within 24 hours of being posted.

This effort aligns with TikTok’s global moderation impact, where over 189 million videos were removed worldwide during the same quarter, representing just 0.7% of all content uploaded. 99.1% of these removals were detected proactively, 94.4% were taken down
within 24 hours, and 163.9 million videos were automatically removed by AI-driven moderation systems. To help protect TikTok’s integrity, in this quarter, the platform has removed 76,991,660 fake accounts, along with the additional 25,904,708 accounts that were
suspected to be under the age of 13.

By integrating advanced automated moderation technologies with the expertise of thousands of trust and safety professionals, TikTok enables faster and consistent removal of content
that violates its Community Guidelines. This approach is vital in mitigating the damaging effects of misinformation, hate speech, and other violative content material on the platform.

TikTok LIVE : Strengthening Real-Time Safety
For the first time, we’re sharing data related to our actions to enforce our LIVE monetization guidelines. These guidelines help reward creators who stream safe, authentic, and high-quality content, while preventing streams that go against these guidelines. In the second
quarter of 2025, we took action, including warnings and demonetization, on 2,321,813 LIVE sessions and 1,040,356 LIVE creators for violating our LIVE monetization guidelines.

Warnings serve as an opportunity to educate creators when their content may breach LIVE monetisation policies, allowing them to make necessary changes.

TikTok Encourages In-App Reporting
To further strengthen efforts in ensuring safety on the platform, TikTok actively encourages its community to report any content, comments, or accounts that appear to violate the platform’s standards in-app. By working together with our community, TikTok is fostering a safe digital space conducive for a thriving society to flourish and individuals to share enriching experiences.
