Multidisciplinary Kenyan singer-songwriter, performing and record producer, Njerae, has shared a surprise EP. Dubbed ‘Four Letter Word (Deluxe)’ , the EP spawns four new tracks:
TRACKLIST:
- 1.Gone ft. Preston Pablo
- 2.Colors ft. Bensoul
- 3.Decide (Remix) ft. Hokima
- 4.Fight For You (Remix) ft. Kobby Worldwide
Embracing new sounds and an uncharted artistic approach , Njerae has tapped different artists to expand her sonic palette. Canadian pop crooner Preston Pablo sprinkles his Pop sensibilities to the large-sounding “Gone”, Kenyan hit-maker Bensoul is recruited for the Afro-Pop tinged cut “Colors”, while Njerae adopts Afro-House as a genre on “Decide (Remix)” and “Fight For You (Remix)”.
“The deluxe feels like a fuller breath — it’s me expanding the world I built with the original project. It’s more confident, more intimate, and more playful. I wanted to show the different shades of love — not just the romantic kind, but the self-love, the surrender, the growth. The songs move through softness and strength, like a conversation between who I was when I started the project and who I’ve become now,” Opens up Njerae.
Records such as “Colors” showcase Njerae’s more fun and outgoing side, “Gone” reflects her soulful edge, while “Decide (Remix) and Fight For You (Remix)” embody Njerae’s bold conviction to dabble in a more dance-laden playfield of Electronic Music.
American producer Hokima remixes the original “Decide” , evoking more emotion and adding some energy into its predecessor.
“More than anything, I wanted listeners to feel seen. To find a piece of themselves in the music — whether it’s in the vulnerability, the groove, or the healing.”
On the back of joining Kenyan heavyweight Bien on his nationwide tour , ‘Alusa Continua Tour’, to playing her first overseas show in Bradford, England during the Blankets & Wine UK Edition – to her EP ‘Four Letter Word’ crossing 3.7M streams accumulatively – Njerae is reflective, vulnerable, and as assured in her femininity as she could get on her latest record. Production from “Beg For It” beatsmith Kobby Worldwide is a stark feature on cuts like “Gone”, “Colors” and “Fight For You (Remix)” showcasing the projects’ groundedness, while Hokima debuts his record with Njerae on “Decide (Remix)”.
