Nigerian star Adekunle Gold maiden performance in Kenya slated for November

Award-winning Nigerian highlife singer, songwriter, Adekunle Gold is set to perform his first ever live concert in Nairobi, Kenya.

Born Adekunle Kosoko into the royal family of Lagos State, Nigeria, in which he holds the title of prince, AG became a home and global household name in the Music Industry after beginning his career early and shot to the limelight in 2014 after releasing Sade, a cover of One Direction’s Story of My Life which set the radio stations of Lagos buzzing. Mixed by top Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi, he won an award for it at Nigeria’s Headies the very next year for Best Alternative Song.

He signed to Olamide’s YBNL Nation label, and issued two Simi-mixed charting follow-ups in “Orente” and “Pick Up” before releasing Gold, his debut long player in 2017 that peaked at number seven on the World Albums Chart, while his sophomore outing, 2018’s About 30, peaked inside the Top Ten.

He calls his music “urban highlife” because of its conscious intersections with contemporary pop, electronica, folk, and R&B.

With over 200 million plus streams in his third best performing album, AFRO POP VOL 1 which was released last year, and being one of the most streamed non East African artists.

The Sinner hitmaker is set to thrill his fans with a live performance in Nairobi, Kenya on 13th November, 2021 at Waterfront Karen, Kenya from 12 noon.
