New Releases: Nicki Minaj, Ciara and Iggy Azelea jump onto the latin music train with some dope collabs

Latin music is making a mark on the global music stage, and everyone wants a piece of the action.

Nicki Minaj, Karol G – Tusa

The twosome makes for a great collaboration on the November release ‘Tusa’. The Colombian Grammy winner Karol G holds her own against the legendary lyricist Nicki Minaj. A collaborative effort, Nicki is also known as Nicki The Ninja sets the pace with her rap which even sees her drop bars in Spanish before she sings her heart out. The two are a match made in heaven, proving that music is limitless, not defined by language or nation.

IZA, Ciara, Major Lazer – Evapora

The track is only 2 minutes long, but alot can happen in just 121 seconds. Atlanta’s darling Ciara is sexy and sultry alongside the Brazilian beauty in the release ‘Evapora’. The release which 3M views online, has specially orchestrated beats by the Major Lazer trio who offer up a Middle Eastern vibe to what would have typically been a Latino type track. Multi-layered and intriguing, the collaboration is unlike anything recently released. If only it was just a bit longer right?

Iggy Azalea, Alice Chater – Lola

This is bright and beautiful as Latin music gets. With a slight hip hop edge to it, the bass track is heavy, but the strumming of acoustic guitars gives it that all-important Latin sound. English act Alice Chater receives great visibility from this collaboration, as Iggy returns to the scene after a few years away from the limelight. This strategic partnership is a good move for both artists.

Which one of the three releases do you like most?
