The World Fashion Awards nominee list is finally out and ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper Kanye West and Fenty designer Rihanna are on the list. Brit-Ghanian designer Oswald Boateng and the world’s youngest billionaire Kylie Jenner also make the nominee list.
The prestigious World Fashion Awards nominee list was released yesterday (17.06.2019) and features some of the world’s biggest established brands including Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Gucci and Chanel being nominated alongside newer brands such as Yeezy, Fenty Fashion and more. According to a report by BangShowbiz, The ceremony will also include a Best Collaboration Award which will see the likes of Rihanna’s Fenty x LVMH go head-to-head with Kanye West’s Yeezy x Adidas, Supreme x Louis Vuitton, Tommy x Zendaya, Dior x Kaws, Vivienne Westwood x Burberry and Rita Ora x Giuseppe Zanotti among others.
Fashion designer and current vice president of the Versace Group, Donatella Versace is set to receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award after taking over the Italian fashion house in 1997 following the death of her brother Gianni Versace.
Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is up against Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Priyanka Chopra for the International Fashion Icon Award.
Spice Girls group member Victoria Beckham has also been nominated for the Fashion Designer of the Year accolade and is up against a host of major names for the prize. Victoria will face off against Olivier Rousteing, Philipp Plein, Virgil Abloh, Nabil Nayal, David Tlale, Ozwald Boateng, Amanda Laird Cherry, and Ryan Lo.
Kanye West’s brand Yeezy is nominated in the Best Footwear Brand against Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga, Timberland, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino, Jordan, Gucci, Giuseppe Zanotti, Berluti, Tabitha Simmons and Baudoin & Lange.
Kylie Cosmetics and Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty are both nominated in the Best Beauty & Cosmetics Brand. Also nominated in this category is L’Oreal, St. Moriz, BareMinerals, Revlon, Benefit Cosmetics, Estee Lauder, Maybelline New York, Guerlain, Élévatione, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, MAC, and Charlotte Tilbury.
Brit blogger and vlogger Patricia Bright is nominated in the Best Fashion & Beauty Vlogger category.
The event is slated for September 18, 2019, at The Savoy hotel in London.
