MKU sets aside Sh300M for a tower campus in Kisumu

Mount Kenya University (MKU) has set aside Sh. 300 million to construct an ultra-modern tower campus in Kisumu city.
According to the University chairman Dr Simon Gicharu, the construction of a campus in the lake side city is part of their expansion plan.

Gicharu says the university has attracted a large number of students owing to its affordable rate. He says students and parents are given humble time to pay fees.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Gicharu says that currently they have 15 campuses across the country. He disclosed that Kisumu campus that is operational have more than 500 students with a target of 5,000 students thus the need to construct their own building.

Gicharu further noted that they are focused to offer quality education by investing on technologies in line with Vision 2030. He says that last year, MKU, a private owned institution was ranked position eight out of 63 universities in Kenya.

Gicharu says they are optimistic to post good ranking in the coming years with the expansion programme that aims to attract more students.
