Kenyan award-winning Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong’o was in Nigeria this past weekend.
The actress was hosted at a private reception in Lagos state organised by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
The event took place on Sunday, February 22nd 2020. Many Nigerian celebrities like D’banj, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Omawumi, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Toolz, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Ebuka, and Flavour were in attendance.
Adichie hosted the actress for her upcoming movie, ‘Americanah’. The actress would be acting as Ifemelu, the lead role in the movie. Nigeria’s who’s who attended the high-profile dinner; all eager to rub shoulders with Academy Award winner Lupita.
Nyong’o would be acting alongside other Hollywood stars like Zackary Momoh, Uzo Aduba, and Corey Hawkins in the upcoming book turned movie.
‘Americanah’ is a novel written by Adichie and it won the 2013 National Book Critics Circle Fiction award before it was picked up by HBO for a drama miniseries that would feature ten episodes directed by actress Danai Guria.
