Singer Keri Hilson has dropped a rather unknown RnB gem. No, not a new song. Something a tad close, nonetheless.
The songstress joined a slew of other stars to celebrate legendary music producer Timbaland’s 50th birthday in Atlanta. Amid the merrymaking that was evident in videos the singer posted, she exchanged pleasantries with fellow musician Justin Timberlake, except they did a little more than exchange pleasantries.
In one of the clips, the two singer-songwriters divulge that they worked on Keri Hilson’s hit, Slow Dance. Timberlake starts cheekily singing the song and Keri Hilson joins in. “That’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” He says. “They don’t even know, you’ve never said it. You gotta tell them,” She responds. They then co-tell a brief history of how the hit was masterminded.
Slow Dance was conceptualized on Timberlake’s European leg of his FutureSex/LoveShow tour, for which Hilson was an opening act for. The Cry Me a River crooner popped in to a Hilson studio session and ended penning the song’s lyrics.
The song served as the 6th single off the singer’s debut album, In a Perfect World.
