Kenyan Musician Ole Willy On Using His Gift To Uplift Africa

Musician and philanthropist Wilfred Andabwa, popularly known as Ole Willy, has found a deeper calling beyond the spotlight. Driven by faith and a passion to empower Africa’s youth, Ole Willy has been on a mission across Rwanda and Goma, Congo to share the gospel, mentor the next generation, and support communities in need.

Although best known for his music, Ole Willy now sees his art as a tool for change. “This journey has shifted my focus from entertainment alone to using my gifts to support humanitarian causes and reach young people searching for love and hope—something only Christ can truly fill.” He’s connecting youth across the continent to build a movement of African sound art used in evangelism, with a project underway featuring 200 songs by 10 artists, expected by 2026.

For the Eldoret-based musician, serving in Rwanda and Goma, Congo, has been nothing short of life-changing. “Witnessing the resilience and hope in these communities has taught me humility and the importance of serving others selflessly,” he reflects. “Spiritually, I feel renewed and inspired to keep spreading God’s message while training many to be soul winners—because the harvest is plenty, but the workers are few.”

Ole Willy’s mission is rooted in a divine calling. “The Lord commanded and called me,” he says. “Africa presented an opportunity to bring hope through spiritual guidance, humanitarian work, and mentorship.” His passion lies in empowering the youth through leadership, faith, and creative expression.

Working in conflict zones like eastern Congo hasn’t been easy. “Providing food, shelter, and medical aid while navigating limited resources has tested our strength,” he says. “But God has been faithful. What we’ve done is only a drop in the ocean—we’re trusting Him for more support.”

With new mission bases already established in Eswatini, Mozambique, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe, Ole Willy plans to keep combining faith, music, and service. “This is a lifelong calling,” he says.

He offers heartfelt thanks to his supporters across Kenya and Africa: “Your encouragement keeps me going. Let’s live purposefully, seek God’s direction, and uplift one another. We don’t show God where to go—He shows us.”
