Eugene Asira is well on his way to becoming a star.
The Kenyan-born singer took to the German singing competition The Voice of Germany for a chance to showcase his skills. Taking to the stage, he performed his own rendition of the hit song “Uliza Kiatu” by H_Art the Band in his blind performance on The Voice of Germany stage. The Kenyan band were more than glad to have Asia perform their track, even comenting on his post on Instagram, offering their full support to upcoming artist.
In the now-viral video, the judges were immediately impressed by Asira’s vocal range leading him to move on to the next stage.

A father and fitness instructor, Asira has always had a love for music. The Voice of Germany’s performance was not his only cover of a popular Kenyan track. He has also previously shared his own renditions of Sauti Sol’s “Isabella” as well as “Stay” by Rihanna and Sam Smith’s ” Stay With Me”.
The Voice of Germany borrows heavily from the vocal competition format of The Voice. The coaches search of the best talent to join their team, with contestants presenting themselves in a blind audition. Judges have their backs to the stage, they have to rely on only their hearing. Only when a chair turns around is the talent in the next round.
The first episode of The Voice of Germany aired on 24th November 2011 and is currently airing its 10th season.
