Kenyan Creators Can Now Earn Through In-Stream Ads And Reels On Facebook

Meta has unveiled two new monetization opportunities for creators in Kenya: In-Stream Ads on Facebook and Ads on Facebook Reels.

These features aim to help creators monetize their original video content and grow their communities.

Moon Baz, Global Partnerships Lead for Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey at Meta, emphasized the company’s dedication to supporting content creators. “We are continually amazed by the remarkable African creators who use Facebook to share their stories, connect with audiences, and foster community. This expansion is designed to help Kenyan creators earn revenue, setting a high standard for creativity worldwide and establishing Meta’s suite of apps as the ultimate platform for creators,” Baz stated.

Details on In-Stream Ads & Facebook Reels Ads

In-Stream Ads can be placed before, during, or after on-demand videos, including both pre-recorded content and previously streamed live sessions. There are several types of In-Stream Ads:

  • Pre-roll Ads: Displayed before the video starts.
  • Mid-roll Ads: Shown during the video.
  • Image Ads: Static images that appear beneath the video.
  • Post-roll Ads: Featured at the end of the video.

Facebook Reels Ads blend seamlessly into original Reels content, allowing creators to earn revenue based on the performance of their Reels while engaging their audience.
