Keemlyf Tees Up New Sultry Release “On The Low” To Drop This Friday 23rd

Fast-rising Kenyan Afropop sensation, Keemlyf, has announced his second single under Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG EA), titled “On The Low”. Produced by the acclaimed music producer Vic West, “On The Low” breathes new life into Keemlyf’s craft, as he continues to make timeless music that cuts across effortlessly.

“On The Low” is a spellbinding anthem that speaks to solidifying a relationship with a loved one under the radar of the world. Themes of secrecy, privacy and romanticism come to the fore on his latest offering.

“OTL (short for On The Low) is about having that one person in your life who means something real to you, but for whatever reason—timing, situations, or privacy—you keep it under wraps. It’s that secret connection, the late-night convos, the moments no one sees but still hit deep. It’s raw, personal, and speaks to a reality a lot of people live but don’t talk about” Keemlyf shares.

Keemlyf’s relentless drive to please a lady of interest and keep their fling without unveiling their relationship to the world is mirrored in his choicely lyrics.

“Looking at your eyes , I can tell that you feel my vibe, got me thinking how say you got a man , but you want me between those thighs” Keemlyf croons.

The song encapsulates intimacy, closure, sneaky-linking, and honesty that is unparalleled and undoubtedly a universal theme when lovers tend to keep their privacy intact.

“I was in a space where I was reflecting on past relationships and the blurred lines between privacy and secrecy. OTL came from a real place—thinking about a girl I had that nobody really knew about, but who still held a piece of me. It wasn’t about hiding out of shame—it was about protecting something that felt too fragile for the world,” Keemlyf mentions.

In “On The Low” Keemlyf’s rizz is on top. He first praises his muse, then builds momentum with lyrics that are both memorable and enjoyable. He’s intentional about dance, mentioning the ‘6:30’ dance move, heavily popularised in Dancehall music.

Creators in the Kenyan cultural space have been taking a penchant to the song with some posting videos of them vibing out to the song.
