Longtime James Bond lead Sir Sean Connery has passed away.
According to reports, the actor who was known on the big screen as the character ‘James Bond’ passed away in his sleep on the Caribbean island of The Bahamas at the age of 90.
The father of two died in the city of Nassau, after a battle with his health. His son told the BBC, “We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time.
“A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”

BBC noted, he first appeared in the role of James Bond in Dr. No in 1962 and went on to appear in five other official films – and the unofficial Never Say Never Again in 1983.
He was largely regarded as being the best actor to have played 007 in the long-running franchise, often being named as such in polls.
The Scottish actor was known for more than just his role on James Bond. Aside from appearing in the 007 franchise, he was also part of major productions including ‘The Hunt for Red October’, ‘Highlander’, ‘Indiana Jones’ and the ‘Last Crusade and The Rock.’
Sir Sean Connery is survived by his wife Micheline and two sons Jason and Stephane.
