Grammy-winning reggae lyricist and cultural ambassador Kabaka Pyramid released his vibrant new single “Jamaica” on Friday, delivering a soulful tribute to his beloved homeland.
The track, part of the expanding Pon Di Island Riddim compilation released via Bebble Rock, served as a powerful homage to the island’s rich culture, natural beauty, and global impact.
Built on a breezy, sun-soaked riddim that debuted with Yaksta’s “Pon Di Island” in September 2024 and continued with Jah Lil’s “Hold Corner” in December 2024, the compilation grew with the addition of six new songs. Three of those tracks were released on Friday, May 23, with five more scheduled to drop in June—Kabaka’s “Jamaica” leading the charge.
In his signature lyrical style, Kabaka Pyramid painted a vivid portrait of Jamaican life and pride, expressing love for the island’s beaches, national heroes, tropical fruits, and athletic greatness.
The track captured the essence of homecoming and national pride—an inspiring reminder of Jamaica’s cultural dominance and natural beauty, delivered through a modern reggae lens.
