Interview: Black Motion talk about their new album ‘The Healers: The last chapter’

The Sauce caught up with afrohouse duo Black Motion on their recent trip to Nairobi, Kenya.

The duo Thabo Mabogwane & Bongani Mohosana celebrated a decade of music with their recently released album ‘The Healers: The Last Chapter’ which dropped in September 2020. The album features 41 tracks including notable collaborations with Sun-El Musician, Simmy, Msaki and Kenya’s very own Idd Aziz, as well as Sauti Sol.

The 5-time SAMA award winners noted that the last ten years have been marked with major achievements including 6 studio albums with several industry awards to boot. Speaking about their music, and their unique dynamic Thabo and Bongani noted that bringing their African sound to a global audience is integral to their music, influencing their decision to showcase the African drums in their live sets.

Black Motion hosted a meet and greet courtesy of the event organizers Gondwana, at the Ballpoint Social Club in Village Market. It was an opportunity to interact and appreciate their fans ahead of their live show at the Winning Post last Sunday 7th March. The duo killed the show, with a special appearance on stage by Idd Aziz.
