Kenyan music star Idid Aziz’s hit “Beautiful Day” has made the cut as the anthem at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco. The song, a duet with French producer DJ Mathias Pace, is a high-energy blend of Idd Aziz’s signature coastal Swahili vocals and modern Afro-house beats.
While the tournament (currently underway in Morocco) has several themes, “Beautiful Day” has emerged as the breakout “stadium favorite.”
The track was released on December 12, 2025, through MLIFE Music Group in partnership with Universal Music and Virgin Music Africa. It’s a high-energy blend of Idd Aziz’s signature coastal Swahili vocals and modern Afro-house beats. The song switches between Kiswahili and English, focusing on themes of unity, resilience, and the “beautiful day” when Africa comes together through football.
Chart Dominance and Viral Essence
Since its debut, “Beautiful Day” has defied the typical “corporate anthem” lifespan:The song peaked at #16 on the YouTube Morocco charts—a rare feat for a Kenyan artist in a North African market. Its popularity exploded following a show-stopping live performance on Canal+ Africa’sflagship sports show, J-1. Meanwhile, the #BeautifulDayAFCON challenge has taken over TikTok, with fans from across the continent sharing dance videos and match highlights set to the track.
The visual is directed by Marc Nicolas Guillaume. The video was filmed partly in Morocco and features vibrant scenes of African heritage, youth culture, and the raw energy of street football.
This achievement comes on the heels of a massive year for Idd Aziz. In 2025, he became one of the few Kenyan artists to perform at Coachella, and his transition from a respected percussionist (who once played with Salif Keita) to a global Afro-house frontman is now complete.
