Guinness has partnered with talented Kenyan creatives to launch a new TV series as part of the Guinness ‘Black Shines Brightest’ campaign which celebrates African creativity and ingenuity.
The series featuring different creatives debuted on Maisha Magic on July 23 and 24, and will be airing again on July 30 and 31. The series was directed by Kenyan actor and producer Nick Mutuma.
During the Thursday evening event, filled with fun, great company, music, and art, cocktail and food masterclasses held by Guinness, they displayed an exclusive viewing of the last episodes of the Guinness Black Shines Brightest stories and we got to meet the cast in the amazing production.
The event was graced by Kenyan celebrities in the creative industry, the cast of the show including grafitti and tattoo artist Eliamin Ink, Culinary extraordinaires, Black Apron Chefs and Drummer extraordinaire Olive Karmen, and renowned DJ Suraj, among others.
“Black Shines Brightest Stories is an immersive journey into the diverse creative talent that Kenya has to offer. It reveals the challenges that these creatives have faced along the way and the resounding success they are now reaping as a result.” said Nick Mutuma, Black Shines Brightest Stories Director.
The series will highlight Kenyans in the fields of food, music, fashion, and the arts and examine their enthusiasm for what they do, appreciation for their cultures, and goals as young creatives.
Some of the creatives featuring in the series are Catherine Jepkemboi popularly known as Minicheps, Samantha and Natalie founders of Mama Rocks Burgers, Brian Msafiri a fashion designer and fashion designer Boguk.
The event is the first of several upcoming collaborations as part of Guinness’ Black Shines Brightest campaign. The company is collaborating with cultural influencers from all around the nation and the world who, in various ways, exemplify the ethos of Black Shines Brightest. These partnerships will showcase Africans in all of their artistic forms.
