There are always new shows to enjoy, especially when the shows were long-awaited because of production delays.
Depending on your preference, there is always something out there for you.
Here is a list of some of the most interesting ones we watched and recommend:
Severance
We all enjoyed Adam Scott’s goofy performance on Parks and Recreation, now we get to see his range in the psychological thriller, Severance. The show follows the lives of colleagues working at a mysterious mega-corporation named Lumen Industries. Mark Scout, played by Scott, is the team leader of a group of employees who have separated their work and life memories through an irreversible Severance procedure. When a new employee wants out, the nature of what they truly do at the company comes into question with the employees trying to make sense of the mystery that is Lumen Industries because suddenly nothing is what it seems.
Anatomy of a Scandal
Based on the novel with the same name, Anatomy of a Scandal is a look into privilege and sexual consent when politician James Whitehouse (Rupert Friend) comes clean about an affair he had with his young assistant at work only to find that he’s being accused of rape. We go through a court case and the accuser and accused have their version of what happened and we’re left questioning both parties’ validity. Taking a look into his past shows he had a pattern of questionable behavior. The interesting B-story is that his wife, Sophie Whitehouse (Sienna Miller) also does some digging into her husband’s past and gets shocking revelations.
Heartstopper
In this teen LGBTQ+ coming-of-age story based on a graphic novel series by Alice Oseman we follow out-and-proud Charlie Spring (played by Joe Locke). He’s currently in a toxic relationship with a closeted fellow student and gets the courage to end it while also discovering feelings towards a new student, Nick Nelson (played by Kit Connor). What makes the series heartwarming is we get to see the nuances in relationships between friends in friend groups and how they build each other up even when it involves facing hard truths.
Moon Knight
The Moon Knight series is based on the character of the same name, which was introduced in the Marvel comics. It’s the sixth television show in the ongoing series of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) television shows that share continuity with the blockbusters. Steven Grant (played by Oscar Isaac) finds himself wanting answers to why he has gaps in his memory. We meet Marc Spector (also played by Oscar Isaac) who’s a mercenary with dissociative identity disorder (DID), making Grant one of his personalities. One man, multiple personalities, dangerous Egyptian deities to handle, and each persona has his strengths and weaknesses.
Pieces of Her
A thriller series based on the book of the same name, Pieces of Her promises dark and mysterious twists and turns. Laura Oliver (Toni Collette) and her daughter Andy (Bella Heathcote) are enjoying lunch at a café on a common day when a mass shooting blows up.
