Uasin Gishu police have identified the body of a man dumped in a metallic box along the Kipkenyo-Kaptinya Road as one of celebrated fashion designer-cum-style connoisseur Edwin Chiloba.
According to a police report, the deceased’s body was discovered by after a bodaboda operator plying the area raised concerns to the police that a vehicle with obscured number plates had dropped the box along the route.
On arriving at the scene, police opened the box only to discover Chiloba’s decomposing and lifeless body which was reportedly clad in women’s regalia. The body has since been moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital pending a postmortem to establish the exact cause of his death.
Police have since launched investigations into the murder, as Kenyans on social media mourn the LGBTQ activist and condemn the murder. Last year, Chiloba shared pictures showing his bloody face after being attacked by unknown assailants.
