As the world continues to battle the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, various artistes are coming out to help vulnerable and less fortunate members of the society in one way or another.
Over the past few months, thousands of people have had to take pay cuts, others have lost their jobs due to measures put in place by various governments, in a bid to combat spread of the disease.
In Tanzania, renowned musician Diamond Platnumz has offered to pay rent for at least 500 families facing hard times due to the virus.
Najua katika kipindi hiki cha Corona, mambo mengi hayajakaa sawa, hususan upande wa biashara….nyingi zimeshuka na kupelekea hali ya kifedha kuyumba na mambo kuwa kidogo Magumu kwa wengi wetu…ijapokuwa na mimi ni Miongoni mwa walio ndani ya janga hili, lakini nimeona walau kwa kidogo changu nilicho nacho, nitoe kusaidia kulipia kodi za Nyumba kwa miezi Mitatu mitatu kwa familia 500, walau kusaidiana Katika kipindi hiki kigumu cha kupambana na Virusi hivi vya Corona…Licha ya kuwa Tiafa moja lakini siku zote mmekuwa Familia yangu kupitia Muziki wangu, hivyo naamini Shida yenu ni yangu, na Tabasamu lenu ni Langu pia….Jumatatu nitaweka rasmi Utaratibu wote wa namna gani Familia Hizi Miatano zinaweza kupata kodi hizo ya Nyumba…” Diamond’s message read in part.

A couple of weeks ago, Daimond’s Wasafi records was hit by the virus, forcing the entire crew to go into quarantine with Diamond’s manager Sallam SK and producer Ayo Lizer testing positive for COVID-19.
