Kenyan music stars Coster Ojwang, Njerae and Bensoul are set to headline the Blankets & Wine UK debut on Saturday, September 6, at Lister Park, Bradford, UK.
The concert, that is partnership with the British Council for the UK/Kenya season 2025 will also feature performances from Boutross, Elvis Wamenya and Mista ER on the live stage. The collaboration with the British Council is in a bid to strengthen cultural connections between the two countries. As well, the event is part of Bradford’s year as the UK City of Culture 2025.
The UK edition will feature live music and DJ sets across two stages, a curated “Onja Onja” food market with authentic African flavors, artisan craft stalls, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
As it makes its UK debut, Kenyan revelers are also gearing up for the September edition of the show slated for September 28, the first this year.
Blankets & Wine is a festival that celebrates African music, culture, food, and art. It is known for its laid-back, picnic-style setting and features both established and emerging African artists. It was founded in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2008 and has since expanded with editions in Uganda and Rwanda.
