Kenyan fusion star Blinky Bill has received the ultimate co-sign from legendary baller David Beckham.
Blinky, who is currently in South Africa as part of his press-tour promoting his new album ‘Everyone’s Just Winging It & Other Fly Tales’ spent the better part of yesterday (24.04.2019) in interviews with Joberg press including a hype interview on The Power of 5 FM as well as a video interview on Trace South Africa.
Based on his buzzing Instagram account, Blinky has been booked and busy since the new album dropped in October 2018 and he is not complaining. Aside from receiving great appreciation for his music from South African media, it seems that he had the perfect end to his day, meeting a football great. His chance meeting with former England Football Captain David Beckham happened in a Club Artist in Johannesburg and from the smile on his face, it was all good vibes.

The two icons partied the night away courtesy of a midweek bash by Haig Club Scotch whiskey, and Beckham went on to praise Blinky for his alt afro-fusion music.
Beckham flew into South Africa to promote the brand Haig Clubman, in which he has vested interested. According to the Haig club site, “David is a brand partner in every sense of the word. First, there’s the passion and dedication to see the brand succeed. This is a genuine collaboration, and David has accumulated a few thousand air-miles circumnavigating the globe to attend Haig Club events and launches, talking to the press, meeting fans and introducing the whisky to a new world of consumers.”
While in South Africa, Beckham has visited the Orlando Towers and soaked up the nightlife in Johanessburg.Taking to Instagram, he shared a sneak peek of Blinky Bill’s epic performance.
Meanwhile, Blinky Bill who got his start as a member of the iconic Kenyan foursome Just A Band is set to continue touring the globe. Spending Easter in Lagos Nigeria, fusion genius Bill is expected to play at the Bushfire Festival in Swaziland, as well as the Baseline Fest in Joburg.
