The April 2023 edition of Blankets and Wine went down, the second one since the event made a comeback in December. Where to start?
As is customary, the Blankets team had promised their throngs of fans a top tier festival and it would be an understatement to say that they did way more than just that.
“Over the years, Blankets & Wine has established itself as the it live music experience, where our ever-growing community gets to #DiscoverLoveShare music, food, craft and fashion and the many brand experiences designed to delight and uplift!” Reads a statement on their official website. True to the message, the festival showcased Kenya’s best-kept fashions, cuisines, drinks lifestyle and of course, the music!
Each of the performers brought forth their A-grade performance. A marvelously curated all-Kenyan lineup, each of the artistes proved why they landed their slots. From Xenia Manasseh’s smooth, airy vocals calming the crowd to Okello Max’s rendition of his beloved hits like Kung Fu, the crowd was living it up every second.
Then came in the legendary Les Wanyika who had all the revelers on their feet, singing along to their classic hits. The band proved why they have stood the test of time and transcended generations.
The headliner, Nyashinski, wound down the night with an electrifying performance. Screams, ululations and meltdown took centrestage as the mega hitmaker serenaded the charged up crowd, as is typical of Nyashinski.
Here are some candids that depict the raved up evening’s moodboard. Say it with us, 10s across the board!
