Popular media personality and entrepreneur Betty Kyallo has addressed reports circulating about her business, Flair by Betty, facing potential auctioning.
Taking to Instagram, the dynamic personality candidly attributed her business challenges to the harsh economic climate in Kenya, acknowledging the formidable hurdles businesses face amidst economic slowdowns.
Highlighting the reluctance of landlords to negotiate rent reductions, Kyallo lamented the strain this places on struggling businesses. “Landlords are hesitant to ease rental burdens, exacerbating the plight of enterprises grappling with economic downturns. I’ve made the tough decision to relinquish Flair by Betty,” she shared.
“Undoubtedly, navigating the business landscape in Kenya has become increasingly challenging,” she conveyed on her Instagram post.
Despite the setback, Kyallo expressed a sense of liberation and contentment from divesting from Flair By Betty. “I’ve discovered solace and tranquility in letting go. My peace of mind outweighs any business moniker. I’m at peace,” she affirmed.
Seizing the moment, Kyallo announced the revival of her other venture, Aftershave By Flair, tailored specifically for men. “Moreover, following a period of expansion, we’re relaunching Aftershave By Flair. Gentlemen, your presence is welcomed – join us today!” she extended.
In a public notice circulated in local newspapers, Keysian Auctioneers disclosed the pending auction of items from the Flair by Betty premises due to outstanding rent arrears. The auction is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Leakey’s Storage Limited along Lunga-Lunga Road in Nairobi.
