For an American (and pretty much everyone else in the West), summer is just about to commence. Other than the amazing weather and countless cool parties, another major element synonymous with a great summer are the hit music releases that characterize the season.
Singers Tinashe and Kehlani have already set the tone with two major viral songs.
Nasty – Tinashe
The talented singer is no stranger to a summer bop, and 2024 is no exception for her. ‘Nasty’ is one of the TikTok trending songs right now. The high-octane choreography has especially been the highlight, with many TikTokers re-enacting it in multiple videos.
After Hours – Kehlani
The hitmaking crooner made a return to the scene after a hiatus – her last music release was 2022’s ‘Blue Water Road.’ She has been reigning the airwaves with this uptempo number, that samples Nina Sky’s 2004 hit, ‘Move Ya Body.’ Quite a deviation from Kehlani’s balladry collection, ‘After Hours’ is a straight up club banger. The video is a loud reminder of Kehlani’s dance prowess.
The singer just announced her next album, with futuristic artwork to boost, is slated to drop on June 21.
