Adekunle Gold Drops Vibrant New Single ‘Coco Money’ Celebrating Success And Resilience

Nigerian Afropop sensation Adekunle Gold is back with a bang, releasing his latest single, ‘Coco Money’ a high-energy anthem filled with triumph, freedom, and unstoppable confidence.

After the emotional depth of his previous hit, ‘Obimo,’ Adekunle flips the script, offering a joyful and sun-soaked track that combines infectious Afro-fusion beats with his trademark lyrical boldness.

Produced by Nigerian hitmakers Niphkeys and Seyifunmi, ‘Coco Money’ also features a playful sample of Rihanna’s iconic “Bitch Better Have My Money,” reimagined in a way that fits perfectly into AG Baby’s distinctive sound. The result? A track brimming with self-assurance and celebration. The perfect soundtrack for those who’ve put in the work and earned their shine.

Rooted in the deep rhythms of Fuji music and the Yoruba street culture of Lagos, this raw, percussive element brings a unique energy to the song, honoring the genre’s rich origins while pushing it into new territory. Coupled with lush orchestral strings and electronic vocal effects, the production is a beautifully layered fusion of the old and the new.

Lyrically, Adekunle Gold strikes with clever commentary and swagger. From the catchy, hypnotic hook “Kowope, Kowope, bitch better have my money,” to the Yoruba proverb “Ase to ba d’eko waa ko’gbon” (which loosely translates to “When you get to Lagos, you’ll learn how to be smart”), he crafts a narrative of survival and success in the urban jungle of Lagos — a city where hustlers rise and the money flows, but only for the savvy. Through “Oro Aje” (the language of wealth), Adekunle mixes social critique with a celebratory vibe, striking a perfect balance between sharp commentary and infectious energy.

In tandem with the release of this banger, Adekunle is making waves in the social sphere as well. He recently launched the Adekunle Gold Foundation, with its flagship initiative, 5 Star Care. This groundbreaking program offers free health insurance to 1,000 individuals living with sickle cell disease in Nigeria, a cause close to the artist’s heart, having lived with sickle cell himself. Unveiled on World Sickle Cell Day, 5 Star Care provides participants with access to critical healthcare, emergency services, and long-term care.

“I’ve lived with sickle cell all my life,” Adekunle says. “This foundation is about giving others the kind of care I always wished for. Everyone deserves 5-star care.”

This new chapter in his journey is one of independence, creativity, and a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
