Actress Jackie Matubia Says She Manifested Her Newest Role In The Mommy Club NBO

Over the years, Jackie Matubia has been a constant in Kenya’s entertainment headlines—not just for her acting prowess, but also for her high-profile relationships and candid approach to motherhood. From her two baby daddies to the intricacies of co-parenting, Jackie’s life has been laid bare to the public. But if you think the noise gets to her, think again.

The Kalasha-nominated actress has mastered the art of silencing critics with elegance. Rather than engage in drama, Jackie chooses grace, frequently sharing heartfelt messages on social media that highlight her commitment to peace and unity within her blended family. Her focus has always been on creating strong, meaningful bonds for her daughters, regardless of public opinion.

In an exclusive interview with Showmax, Jackie opened up about her newest adventure: joining the cast of The Mommy Club Nairobi, the Kenyan spinoff of the hit reality franchise. A longtime fan of reality television — from The Real Housewives series to the original Mommy Club South Africa — Jackie says joining the show felt like the perfect fit. She manifested it. “When The Mommy Club SA premiered in 2023, I posted on Instagram saying, ‘Mommy Club KE!’ I kept speaking it into existence, so when the call came through, I thought, ‘Manifestation works!’”

Jackie’s admiration for the franchise goes beyond fandom. She even connected with Mrs. Mops from The Mommy Club SA, forming a friendship before she knew she’d be on the Kenyan edition. Although she hasn’t shared the news with Mrs. Mops yet, Jackie is excited to surprise her with the big reveal.

A self-proclaimed queen of juggling, Jackie proudly wears her many crowns—mother, actress, entrepreneur, and now reality star. She acknowledges the chaos that comes with it all, saying it often feels like she’s living 48 hours in a 24-hour day. There are wins, like red-carpet triumphs and TV milestones, and there are sacrifices, like missing bedtime stories or early morning cuddles. Still, she shows up and shows out, choosing to celebrate herself in the process.

After two marriages and two years of celibacy, the former Tahidi High actress says she is finally ready to open her heart again. She admits that in the past, she didn’t fully understand what she needed in a partner. But now, she knows what she’s looking for: a tall, chocolate, bearded man with a possible silver fox vibe—and more importantly, someone who will love, respect, and adore her for who she is.

As much as fans might hope to catch glimpses of her baby daddies on the show, Jackie reveals that won’t be happening. One of them is simply not in the picture, and the other prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Still, she’s vocal about the importance of co-parenting and offers this piece of wisdom: “It’s not about you, it’s about the kids.” Her message to fellow moms is simple but powerful—if the father is willing to be present, let him be, for the sake of the children.

People may assume she’s mean—“blame it on my resting b**** face,” she jokes—but underneath the tough exterior is a woman who’s fiercely devoted to her children, her career, and her truth.

With her signature mix of sass, sincerity, and strength, Jackie Matubia is making her mark once again—and this time, she’s doing it on her own terms.
