Davido Marries Chioma In A Lavish And Star-Studded White Wedding In Miami

Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, and his longtime partner Chioma Rowland officially sealed their union in a grand white wedding ceremony held in Miami, Florida, on Sunday.

The opulent affair was the culmination of a love story that has spanned over a decade, weathered personal loss, and captivated millions around the world.

Following their court wedding in March 2023 and a traditional ceremony in Lagos in June 2024, the Miami white wedding brought together a dazzling mix of family, friends, political elites, global business moguls, and entertainment icons.

The wedding drew an enviable guest list. Notable names included Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and Davido’s godfather, who reportedly flew in just 72 hours after attending another high-profile wedding in Iceland. Also in attendance was Ademola Adeleke, Osun State Governor and Davido’s uncle, who lit up the dance floor in his now-iconic “dancing governor” style. Music industry colleagues such as Adekunle Gold, Teni, D’banj, and American gospel icon Kirk Franklin were also present.

The multi-million dollar ceremony, which Davido revealed cost a staggering $3.7 million in cash.

In his heartfelt wedding speech, Davido who was born in the US and known for commanding global stages when performing his hits like ‘Assuarance’, ‘Unavailable’, ‘Fall’ and more, appeared visibly moved.

“Chioma, I have been on many stages, but this is the nervous I have ever been,” he began. “You are my love, my peace, my home. You came into my life quietly and became the loudest and most beautiful part of it. You saw the real me, the me the world doesn’t see, and you still chose me.”

The groom’s vulnerability resonated deeply with guests and fans worldwide, many of whom have followed the couple’s journey, including the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.

While the event sparkled with celebrity presence, a few notable absences drew public attention. One such figure was Cubana Chief Priest, Davido’s close associate, who was unable to attend due to visa issues.

Similarly, Chioma’s parents were notably absent, reportedly due to visa revocation and a temporary U.S. entry ban after a previous overstay while caring for Chioma during postpartum complications in 2023.

Prior to the ceremony, a pre-wedding dinner set the tone for the festivities. In one widely shared video, Davido is seen lovingly doting on Chioma, who wore a stunning white gown while he sported a bold, multicoloured outfit.
