The best World Cup young players are…

With Germany lifting the glorious World Cup in Brazil, these three young players have been identified as outstanding by FIFA and Hyundai as an official partner:

 Paul Pogba (France)

Pogba

The 21 year old defensive midfielder has a goal and an assist to his name in this World Cup. FIFA has named Pogba as the best young player but his age does not betray his technique, precision, mental strength and vision. The Juventus player was also named the best under-21 player in Europe in 2013 and one of the ten most promising young players in Europe by The Guardian. A product of strong youth academies in France and Manchester United Youth Academy, Pogba has continued to grow in statute and skill but hungry for more play time, moved to Juventus in 2012.

Memphis Depay (Netherlands)

Memphis plays for PSV Eindhoven as a winger/midfielder. He scored the winning goal against Australia and also scored against Chile. Not bad for a 20-year old playing his first world cup. He also has one assist to his name. The Dutch winger has been outstanding for club and country providing support and linking up with Neds danger men – Robben and Robin van Persie.

Raphael Varene (France)

The 21 year old 6’3” central midfielder has proven himself as a reliable centre back Jose Mourinho made sure he signed him for Real Madrid calling him ‘the best young defender on the planet’. For a player of his age to play for Real Madrid and France means the coaches can trust Varene to keep attackers at bay. He hasn’t disappointed so far.
