Tarrus Riley Brings WRC Koroga Festival To A Standstill With Sweet Reggae Music

Jamaican American Reggae star Tarrus Riley showed up and showed out during his performance at the recently-concluded WRC Koroga Festival.

The hitmaker delivered an electrifying performance on the final day of the 30th edition of the WRC Koroga Festival held at the Gardens in Naivasha this past weekend.

Mr Singy Singy as he is popularly referred to gave a two-hour performance laden with hits like ‘Gimme Likkle One Drop’, ‘She is royal’, ‘Cold girl’, ‘Simple blessings’, ‘My day’, ‘Just the way you are’, ‘Superman’, ‘Sorry is a sorry word’, ‘Lighter’ and ‘Human nature’ just to name a few.

He ended the epic act that attracted thousands of revelers to the final day of four-day extravaganza with his heartwarming hit, ‘Love Salute’ as he urged eventgoers to remember those who we have lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During his performance, fellow Jamaican legendary Saxophonist, Dean Fraser took to the stage and serenaded the crowd with his rendition of ‘Redemption Song’.

Tarrus also introduced his daughter to the Kenyan fans as she sang alongside her father. The 43-year-old singer-songwriter brought out a surprise act, Jamaican reggae star Natel, popular for his 2010 hit song ‘Miles Away’ off the City Life Riddim.

His well-curated performance also included a change of clothes, one of which captured his love for Kenya as the first African country he has ever visited. Tarrus carried the Kenyan flag high as he thanked his fans for showing up and went ahead to do an up-close meet and greet with the elated fans.

Kenyan hitmakers Nviiri the Storyteller, Bensoul, Gravitti band, and Meru Country music star Kamanu thrilled fans with their top hits during the last day of the highly-rated event that took over Naivasha yet again after a two-year hiatus. Capital FM’s finest DJ Adrian and Dj G Money brought their A-game on the decks. The event was hosted by Capital FM presenters Fareed Khimani and Kui Kabala.

The four-day event which has been lauded as a success was the highlight of WRC Safari Rally and it featured Capital FM’s mix masters Dj UV, Dj Jokisila and Dj Schwaz, Dj IV, Dj Lisney, DJ Protege, and music artists Buruklyn Boyz, Samidoh, and Otile Brown.
