If You Can Dream It, Tweet It: Manifesting In The Twitterverse

We talk about manifesting things into existence and how our dreams are valid. Twitter asked us to stop talking and “Tweet it into Existence”!

A “@Twitter” and “@TwitterMusic” thread recently highlighted celebrities who had tweeted their dreams in the past as a reminder that those dreams have now become reality. We compiled some of our favourites.

@Twitter

Issa Rae; Actress, Writer and Producer

Actress, writer and producer Issa Rae started out on YouTube with her series “Awkward Black Girl”. Since 2011, Rae continued to develop her YouTube channel, which featured various short films, web series, and other content from black creators.
Rae has achieved recognition as the co-creator, co-writer, and star of the well-known and popular HBO television series “Insecure” (2016–2021), for which she was nominated for multiple Golden Globe Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards and has won awards for ‘Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series’ numerous times.

Simu Liu; Canadian Actor and Stuntman

Simu Liu is a Chinese-born Canadian actor and stuntman known for portraying Shang-Chi in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.
In response to the @Twitter thread he tweeted “Speaking your dreams into existence is just the first step in the long journey of making them come true. Nobody from Marvel ever read this tweet, but that didn’t matter. I believed in it enough that I was willing to work every day for it. Speak your dreams and then get to work!”

Matthew A. Cherry: Writer, Producer, Director

National Football League (NFL) player Matthew A. Cherry retired and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment and started work as a production assistant for commercials and music videos. After learning behind the scenes production, he transitioned into directing music videos staring Michelle Williams featuring Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, Jazmine Sullivan and Chloe X Halle. He also directed independent films but what finally got him his Oscar was his animated short film “Hair Love” about an African American father attempting to do his daughters hair for the first time.

@TwitterMusic

Megan Thee Stallion; Rapper and Songwriter

Rapper and songwriter Megan Thee Stallion, alter ego Tina Snow, first received attention when her freestyling videos became popular on Instagram. Her confidence and sensuality flow through her personality and in her music. Not only did her rap take off for her, but she indeed has a team and various accolades to her name including an American Music Award for “WAP” and Grammys for “Savage” and “Thot Shit”.

Demi Lovato; Singer and Songwriter

Actress, singer and songwriter Demi Lovato has been in the spotlight since childhood. We’ve seen her grow from television series like “Barney & Friends” and movies like “Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2” to a pop-rock star with hits like “Sorry Not Sorry”. Lovato has won various awards, including a Guinness World Record for being the youngest X Factor judge, an MTV Video Music Award, five People’s Choice Awards, a Billboard Women in Music award, and fourteen Teen Choice Awards. In 2010 her tweet read “One day, I’m gonna sing the national anthem at a super bowl. Onnnnee dayyy….” and in 2020, she sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

You may not be there yet, but someday you will.
