Three Tips on Staying Motivated Throughout The Week

Starting the week off with a high is easy because of the weekend break which gives us that much-needed time away to rejuvenate.

However, it is disappointing how that high becomes non-existence after day two; Tuesday.
The energy let alone the will to stick it out till Friday is no more and one is left running on fumes barely midweek wishing that Friday comes faster.

Then you bump into a quote on Pinterest that reminds you that 2022 is six months away and you feel horrible; like time has been wasted with zero productivity. What’s even worse is the feeling of starting over after a lack of consistency which out rightly sucks. So, how do you fix this and ensure that the enthusiasm and the intention don’t drop?

Reading your journal.

That’s right, we write a lot. Goals, to-do lists, letters, and screenshots of favorite quotes. Ever noticed the burst of energy after reading or writing down these nuggets of motivation?
To keep that going, you need to read them over and again throughout the day and week to see the same effect reflected often. If you are not the writing type, you definitely should take up this because it’s a primary way of living your truths.
Podcasts and YouTube videos are great and all but there is something about writing then reading something you wrote from your heart, the words that make your soul ache. So try it and see as the magic unfolds.

Find the will.

That’s right, search for it daily and channel it with intention. Knowing that you dip after certain triggers come to play is your ultimate weapon.
This means that you can then arm yourself with ammunition that will see you become successful in staying on track. The goal is to remain intentional and choosing to succeed rather than to fail.

Keep track of your progress.

When trying to stay both motivated and consistent keeping track of your progress is essential. What this looks like is going through to-do lists, daily goals, and set tasks alongside their timelines, and gauging whether you were successful or not.
This way, you are cognizant of what needs to be done, what has been done, and how well these tasks have been executed thus giving you both clarity and direction; two critical components of staying motivated.

Overall, staying motivated which translates to staying energized and on track with your goals both long term and short term demands intentionality and willpower.

Falling back to the default routines is easy because it feels familiar, comforting, and requires no energy. So always remember to get out of your head to remain objective throughout your week.
