In order to address a prevalent gap in Information Technology skills in the country, Management University of Africa – MUA has entered a training partnership with India’s best skills training institute to address the challenge.

Indian Institute of Hardware Technology – IIHT, a premier IT hardware and networking training institute in India with over 200 global centers, will today ink the partnership with MUA, in which it will offer hands-on training on-campus, the kind that has put India on the global technology fast lane.

Now with a center in Westlands, Nairobi, IIHT will initially offer job-oriented IT certificate and diploma courses on the latest technologies based on a curriculum developed with employers’ requirements in mind. This will increase employability as the courses will be relevant to available jobs in the market.

MUA Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Nicholas Letting, said this will be a game changer in IT training as courses offered will be directed to enhancing the employability of our youth, and those already in the profession who wish to upgrade their skills as technologies change. In her overview, IIHT Nairobi Centre Mission Head, Dr. Emma Theuri, noted that skills can only be entrenched through hands-on training with the actual equipment used in industry, which enables graduands to enter the job market without the requirement of internship or attachment.
