There are countries that offer the best mix of employee benefits including high standard of living. Here is a compilation of the best countries to work in according to the OECD, mnn.com and the Atlantic.com<\/p>\n

1. Australia<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) ranked Australia as the best country to work and live. Australians are generally a happy lot according to the survey done by the OECD, showing a higher than average standard of living. Australians work on average 1,693 hours a year, less than the OECD average of 1,776 hours. This allows workers to spend more time with family. People in Australia devote 60 percent of their day, or 14.4 hours, to personal care (eating, sleeping etc) and leisure. The line between gender roles in the country is blurred with men and women sharing duties both at home and in the office.<\/p>\n

2. Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n

Germany is a case study of working efficiently. The average pay is $4,740 and the cost of living is favorable compared to other European countries such as UK and France. The level of support from the government is also commendable and systems work as a clock.<\/p>\n

This beautiful country is most notable for offering workers the most paid vacation days per year in the world. According to mmi.com, full-time workers can earn a whopping 41 paid days off – 30 of those days are mandated for leisure time and the other 11 are considered paid federal holidays. That is a lot of time given for relaxing and being with family.<\/p>\n

Qatar is ranked as one of the least taxed countries in the world. Honestly, who wouldn\u2019t want to work here? The Emirates Government doesn\u2019t need to raise revenue from personal income. They have the world\u2019s seventh-largest crude oil and natural gas reserves, and are dependent on money from oil companies that pay up to 55 percent in corporate taxes. With a local population of 1.87 million, the State can comfortably take care of its citizens. Expats also find ample opportunity especially if you are skilled and can bare the heat or strict religious rules.<\/p>\n

Norway is keen on providing excellent working conditions to employees. Men and women receive 47 paid weeks of maternity\/paternity leave to spend time with their newborn. Each employee receives an automatic 35 days of vacation each year. Health care is free to anyone living in Norway. Most companies provide free meals in the company cafeteria and free onsite childcare. A high percentage of employers provide white-collar employees with a free laptop, cell phone and company car.<\/p>\n

If you work in France, you have approximately 200 hours more on vacation, leave and holidays. France is also a world leader when it comes to the number of paid vacation days: 40 in total, 30 of which are mandated and 10 of which are public holidays.<\/p>\n
