It is based in Palo Alto, California comp, it is an online platform for people and organizations to create custom social network launched in October 2005. Ning offers customers the ability to create a community website with a customized appearance and feel; Ning, a tech company that offers customized websites, offers catered lunch, unlimited snacks and other perk to its employees. But what employees like about working there is the horizontal hierarchy. What that means is that everyone, no matter whether they’re right out of college or has 20 years experience, collaborate together. This is really cool because it encourages the younger generation to better their talent without feeling intimidated.
7. Best Buy
Best Buy is currently the number one seller of consumer electronics in the United States and is becoming a world leader in the industry. On the break room at every Best Buy store is a list of the company’s values as well as the company goals. These include things like “Always have fun while being the best”, “Learn from challenge and change” and “Be there for the life of the customer’s product.” Everything employees are taught relate back to these goals and the company likes to instill within its employees the idea that they are working towards the same goal. What’s cool about working for Best Buy is already the fact that they deal with the coolest gadgets in the world. Furthermore, the break room is also loaded with high Tec TVs and foosball table.
8. Wegmans Foods Supermarkets
Wegmans is a family-owned U.S. regional supermarket chain headquartered in Gates, New York, near Rochester. Now this company has a feeling of family with all its employees, the employee’s reward each other with gift cards. Their records proves that one out of every five employees is related which brings about the whole family feeling.
9. Edward Jones
You would expect a financial firm to be rigid and all corporate but this multi-billion company has built around 11000 small offices which makes the relationship between employees very good because they sit very close to each other. They have regular gatherings for ice-skating and fish tournaments. The employees are also made to feel part of the management because 44 percent of the new hires always come from employee referrals.
10. The Think Geek Organization
It feels like more of play than work if you are employed by a toy company. So if you are employed to test and play games, it surely must be fun all the way. Employees of Think Geek have games and other recreational toys at their disposal. One room is full of videogames, arcade-style games, a foosball table, guitars – and even a “claw machine” where you can drop a claw down into a pile of plush toys and try to scoop one out. Oh, and their holiday party last year was a four-day trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. This is so cool!
