When the Kenya Boys Choir left for a tour of Canada last year, they had no idea what to expect. But the experience in Canada will be forever be engraved in Ted Omondi’s memory.
“To meet and work on a collabo with Nelly Furtado was phenomenal and the highlight of the tour,” says Ted, a member of the boys choir and a USIU student.
The grammy award winner, singer, songwriter, producer and actress took time off her busy schedule to interact with members of the choir.
Ted says Furtado took time to get to know and bond with each and every member of the choir.
“Her humility is outstanding. She always replies to emails.”
Ted first met Furtado in Kenya while she was helping a school. It turns out that she also very funny. “she’s almost like a stand-up comedian,” he reminisced.
The choir was well recieved during their Canada tour and they got to also meet other international stars including Joe Jonas and Eli Golden.
Ted, who is an international relations student aspires to pursue music to “spread the joy it brings. I also want to teach music in future.”
“Thoughts” is the name of the single by Nelly Furtado and the Kenyan Boys Choir.
